About The IV Center Pittsburgh

The IV Center in Pittsburgh was opened in May of 2019 by Linda Slagel, a registered nurse with a passion for infusion nursing. With over 10 years of nursing experience Linda opened this center so that almost anyone can have a chance to benefit from IV therapy. Her expertise with IV insertion ensures a sanitary procedure using correct techniques and equipment. Making you relaxed and comfortable is her goal, which includes an almost painless procedure. She welcomes you to the clean and relaxing atmosphere of The IV Center where health is wealth. Whether you have a chronic illness that can be supported by nutritional IV therapy or you are suffering from a massive hangover, you can leave feeling better than when you walked in the door.

How to get an IV

The first step is to fill out your pre-IV questionnaire. This can be done in less than 5 minutes and ensures that no ingredients are contraindicated due to your specific health history. Our medical providers than review and write the prescription which is good for 12 months. Next you read through our menu and pick the IV that best suits your needs. Once you decide you can schedule your appointment for a time that is convenient for you. Most IV’s take approximately 45 minutes to infuse although, the Hydrate Drip takes approximately 75 minutes so plan accordingly. Next arrive at your scheduled appointment in our clean and comfortable IV lounge. Our Registered Nurse can go over any last-minute questions before the IV is inserted and the infusion begins. Recline, relax, and drip away!

About our IV Ingredients

The IV Center uses nutritional IV cocktails that are formulated to boost your health and wellbeing. Quality products are shipped from specialty pharmacies in the United States that are then used to make our infusions. We seek pharmacies that have a great reputation and supply high grade ingredients. Standard precautions and standard infusion procedures are strictly followed to safeguard our clients. No IV’s are pre-made, they are mixed when you arrive to ensure their integrity and to allow time for a last minute add in.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's in the IVs?

The IV’s have ingredients found naturally in the body or in the foods we eat every day.

How long do the effects of the IV last?
Effects can last up to 3-5 days, based on individual lifestyle. Effects can also be extended through the oral use of supplements.
Are these IVs safe?

Safe enough to get every day if no risk factors are present.

Why not just take vitamins and supplements?
When given through an IV drip, nutrients are more available to the body. Simply taking supplements involves passing through the digestive system where the absorption is not as efficient.
Does insurance cover IVs?

No, Insurance is not accepted. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, credit card, and some FSA/HSA cards.

Does it hurt?
IVs shouldn’t hurt at all after the initial pinch. Once the needle is used to access the vein it is discarded. The IV catheter is a small plastic tube left in the vein for IV fluids to travel through.
Do I need to complete the questionnaire prior to getting an IV?
Yes. The health history is reviewed by a medical professional and an order is written for the nurse to administer IV fluids. Complete the questionnaire online to avoid a wait at the center.
Can I get an IV the same day I fill out my pre-IV questionnaire?
Yes, there is a two hour window for booking. If at noon you fill out your paperwork, the first available appointment would be 2pm if that time slot is available.
How do I know which IV I should get?
Review of the health history questionnaire results in a provider order for all IVs with any exceptions noted. The RN follows the order and the client chooses the IV that best fits their lifestyle, energy level, and well being. It is perfectly fine to get iEnergize at the beginning of a busy week and the next week get iRelax or iRevitalize.
Can I customize my IV?

Yes. All IVs are customizable and for example an extra dose of Vitamin C could be added to an IV. All add-ins are listed under the Infusion drips tab.

Testimonials

The IV Was Amazing!

The IV was amazing. I got the Hangover Drip. A long Friday night out with friends was not ideal for a productive Saturday. That was until I got the Hangover IV. I felt completely rejuvenated. I got all my energy and then some back. I highly recommend this for anyone going on a weekend with cocktails getaway.

Sick and Tired No More

I used to get the flu shot and would still get sick.  I've been getting IVs all winter and I think this is the first winter in 55 years I haven't got sick.  I feel great and this is my new flu shot!
